Project Galileo is Cloudflare’s program that gives at-risk public-interest organizations enterprise-grade protection for free. If your work makes your website a target - human rights, journalism, civil society, election or democracy work, humanitarian relief - Galileo puts Cloudflare’s Business-plan defenses in front of your site so an attacker cannot simply knock you offline.

What you get

Participants receive the benefits of Cloudflare’s Business plan at no cost: unmetered DDoS mitigation, a web application firewall, CDN and DNS, SSL, bot management, and Zero Trust application access. Cloudflare reports it protects thousands of vulnerable Internet properties this way, and it keeps the list of participants confidential so joining does not paint a target on you.

How eligibility works

This is not a general nonprofit discount - it is specifically for organizations facing politically or ideologically motivated cyberattacks. You can apply directly, but the smoother path is a referral from one of Cloudflare’s partner organizations in the free-speech and public-interest world. The application asks about your mission, your nonprofit status, and the concrete threats you are seeing.

The honest take

For an eligible organization this is one of the best offers in the entire directory: genuinely enterprise-grade protection, genuinely free. The only reason it is not for everyone is the eligibility bar - if you are a typical small charity not facing targeted attacks, you likely will not qualify, and Cloudflare’s standard free plan already covers you.
