What it is

Google for Nonprofits is a free bundle of Google products for verified charities. The headline piece is the Google Ad Grant: up to $10,000 per month in in-kind Google Search advertising. It also unlocks a free edition of Google Workspace (email, Docs, Drive, Meet), the YouTube Nonprofit Program, and Google Maps Platform credits.

Why claim it first

Nothing else on this site comes close to the value of the Ad Grant, and it costs nothing. Before you pay for a single tool, make sure your organization has claimed this. The catch is that the Ad Grant has ongoing compliance rules (keyword quality, a 5% click-through-rate floor, conversion tracking) that trip up organizations who set it and forget it.

How eligibility is verified

Google validates nonprofit status through Goodstack (formerly Percent), the same validation partner several other programs use. You register once, get verified, and that verification can smooth enrollment in other nonprofit programs.

The honest take

Free, high value, and the foundation of a nonprofit’s digital presence. The only reason organizations do not benefit is that the Ad Grant is genuinely work to run well. That is exactly the gap our done-for-you service fills, but the program itself is free and yours to keep either way.
